About Us In 1998 I acquired my first rental property thus starting my career with real estate. Realizing I needed an education in real estate, yet not needing a license, I enrolled in appraisal courses at Central Piedmont Community College. These courses provided me with a broad range of real estate knowledge which I use to this day. 2006 brought me to within 10 years of mandatory retirement from my ATC career and it was now time to get serious about what I would do next. Since I enjoy investing in and managing my rental properties it seemed logical to broaden my real estate knowledge and obtain an N.C. real estate license. By the third quarter of that year I had completed the mandatory course work, passed the state exam and received my license. Obviously, the skill-set required to be a successful investor is different than the skills needed to be successful real estate broker. For that reason I initially joined a RE/MAX franchise as it was important to join a large, well known, national firm and to be mentored by a successful agent. After nearly two years I moved to Savvy +Company a small but tech savvy firm located in the historic Elizabeth neighborhood. In Charlotte, Savvy+Co rises above the competition. Owners Lexie Longstreet and Shonn Ross employ a specialized support staff and utilize cutting-edge technology to insure the success of sales agents and their clients. This is especially true of purchasers who are new or relocating to the area and unfamiliar with the local real estate. Through the technology department I have access to myriad of web tools to help expose a “for sale” property to the market. At Savvy+Co I can draw upon hundreds of “agent years” of real estate experience and as such any issues can be quickly and professionally dealt with. On a day to day basis I work with Deborah Cox who has been a licensed real estate professional since 1997. Deborah Cox entered residential real estate sales in 1997 from a background in historic preservation and home furnishings. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in history. Deborah joined Savvy+Co in order to utilize the technological expertise and administrative support available. She has a broad range of experience, working with individual buyers and sellers, as well as marketing entire new development projects. Currently, in addition to general brokerage activities, she is marketing Jamestowne Commons, a 72-unit condominium conversion in the Commonwealth-Morningside neighborhood.
